I was born in Jagannath Puri, Odisha, India. and brought up in an inspiring artistic family, vested in supporting my talent and thirst for music dance and tireless practice to perfection. As a child, I was immersed in cultural music and dance from a very young age. I have created a niche for myself on the Odissi platform as a talented dancer, vocal artist, music and dance teacher, choreographer, and an activist of Odissi. I am a devoted disciple of my guru Pankaj Charan Das, the founder of Odissi dance, Pandit Rabi Rarayan Panda, and Temple Gotipua dancer, Pandit Markandeya Mahapatra, Odissi vocal exponent. I have been carrying forward the torch of Odissi in its purity, style, and its original forms for the past 35 years. I conduct regular dance and music classes, and organize rigorous workshops and summer camps for my senior dancers as well as beginners to continue the tradition inherited from my guru.
